Going back in time to piece together the true unsolved cases that still linger here after the smoke clears. The Smoker’s Lounge dives deeper into the origin of The Sandman. Sandy’s grandmother ‘Mimi’ lives next to the mill that poses both physical and psychological effects on the surroundings and people of the Pittsburgh era.     Cuba Film Screening Fundraiser at The GlitterBox Theater Tue, May 19, 2026 6:30 PM - 9:00 PM Pittsburgh DSA is happy to share we will be hosting a film screening fundraiser at Glitterbox Theater to raise money to send medical aid to Cuba! Join us in solidarity as we watch two films by Beast of the Beast, "The War on Cuba" which details the harmful effects of the US blockade on everyday Cuban citizens, and "Teresita’s Dream" that is about the development of Cuba's early stage cure for Alzheimer's by a woman-led team. This event is also part of the 100 years with Fidel as we honor and celebrate his achievements and impact on the world. After the films there will be a panel with speakers from different organizations to further discuss more about Cuba. This event will be free, but we suggest a $10 donation to National DSA's Venceremos Fund that will be used to send medical aid. Cash donations will also be collected at the event but no one will be turned away for lack off funds. * Note when making a donation involving Cuba do not put the word "Cuba", "🇨🇺", or anything related to Cuba in the […]

All that time, we have asked, what do these toys do when we're not playing with them? "How to Spot Counterfeit Beanie Babies" is a grey market VHS tape released in 1998. The tape itself is auxiliary to a speculative market surrounding Ty's line of Beanie Baby stuffed animals which, for a few short years, would demand price points in the thousands before abruptly cratering in value at the close of the 20th century. The tape was not produced by the Ty corporation, though it was permitted to use the company's branding off the books, as the point of the tape was to signify the value of the company to the niche set of whale investors who propped up the Beanie bubble in question.
