SUMMARY:Nutmeg Album Release Party at Glitterbox Theater
DESCRIPTION:Nutmeg Album Release Party at Glitterbox Theater \nThe band is called Nutmeg Party. We’re a 4-piece band from Pittsburgh that plays a multitude of genres amidst our original songs\, ranging from folk\, funk\, psych rock\, and piano-led balladry. For this event\, we’re coordinating with several other local bands to put on a few hours of live music\, including some solo acoustic and ambient musicians\, indie bands\, and of course\, us playing all the material from our new album. \nWe’re also getting in touch with local artists to vend jewelry\, ceramics\, books\, crochet\, or whatever they wish- not for a fee\, just to be a platform for local art! Speaking of art\, we’re also looking to set up an arts and crafts table\, where people who come can make something to add to a stage piece that we’ll take to future shows- or just keep their hands busy while they enjoy the music. \n\n\nDate & Time\nSun\, Jan 4\, 2026 7:30 PM – 10:00 PM \n\n\nVenue Details\nGlitterbox Theater \n210 W 8th Ave\nWest Homestead\, Pennsylvania 15120

DESCRIPTION:Sad Boys in Harpy Land at Glitterbox Theater \n“A THRILLING & FRENETIC MENTAL BREAKDOWN OF A SHOW” (NYT) \nEqual parts anxious clown show\, demented cabaret\, and extended crisis of meaning\, Sad Boys in Harpy Land collages narratives of art making and despair into an unhinged solo performance that takes place in the hellscape of the mind. \nAfter sold-out runs everywhere from Off-Broadway to multiple basements\, self-proclaimed “experimental clown artist” Alex Tatarsky brings their (dubiously) hit show Sad Boys in Harpy Land to The Glitterbox! Embracing the spiral\, the unfinished\, and the broken bits\, the piece attempts to move through the inaction born of anxiety\, shame\, and overwhelm towards strange & ecstatic modes of re-writing the world together. \nCreated & Performed by Alex Tatarsky \nLive Music by Shane Riley \nDirected by Iris McCloughan \nScenic\, Costumes\, Props Design by Andreea Mincic \nLighting Design by Masha Tsimring \nDeveloped with Eva Steinmetz \nCalled a “hilarious\, finely tuned absurdist” (Theatre Jones) and “outrageous and profane” (NYT)\, Alex Tatarsky makes performances in the uncomfortable in-between zone of comedy\, dance-theater\, performance art\, and deluded rant–sometimes with songs. Tatarsky experienced fleeting fame as Andy Kaufman’s daughter and used to perform as a mound of dirt. SUMMARY:Alex Tatarsky WORKSHOP: Clown Rot at The Glitterbox Theater
DESCRIPTION:Alex Tatarsky WORKSHOP: Clown Rot at The Glitterbox Theater \n\nAlex Tatarsky\, a clown by trade\, is interested in all the ways we can fall apart on stage\, break down\, break things down\, be in the brokenness\, decay\, decompose and freak out.\nIn our four hours together\, we will play amidst the mess\, attempt to be possessed rather than possess\, and learn from the figure of the clown—for whom failure is a gift.  An attempt to follow pleasure amidst impossible circumstances. Delight in the dirt. Turn our shit into gold. For writing inspiration\, we will look to the compost heap and the garbage can. We consider the trash to be a museum of civilization. \nthis class is for:\nclowns and clown adjacent performers\nwriters who want to “write with the body” or “write on their feet”\nplayful people and curious people of all stripes! (who are down to wiggle around a bunch)\neveryone from total newbies to grizzled old freak is totally welcome \npeople should bring:\nclothes you feel comfortable moving in\na pen and paper/notebook\nan object — any regular old thing you have in your home or trash can or backpack or whatever) that gives you a strong FEELING of some kind (could be delight\, disgust\, anger\, ecstasy…) \n$60\n16 people max\nSunday January 25\, 11 am – 3 pm \n~Bio~ \nA “hilarious\, finely tuned absurdist” (Theatre Jones)\, Alex Tatarsky makes performances in the uncomfortable in-between zone of comedy\, dance-theater\, performance art\, and deluded rant–sometimes with songs. Tatarsky experienced fleeting fame as Andy Kaufman’s daughter and used to perform as a mound of dirt. They are currently touring their falling apart bildungsroman about wanting to die\, Sad Boys in Harpy Land\, and their compost clown lecture-performance Dirt Trip. Venues include Abrons Arts Center\, La Mama\, MoMA PS1\, Playwrights Horizons\, The Kitchen\, The Whitney Biennial and many bars and basements. As curatorial fellow at the Poetry Project\, they organized a series on the poetics of rot.
