SUMMARY:Sunday Slow Grooves with J Malls at Golden Age Beer Co. | Weekly
DESCRIPTION:Sunday Slow Grooves with J Malls at Golden Age Beer Co. | Weekly\n\n4:00 PM  7:00 PM\n\n\nGolden Age Beer Company337 East 8th AvenueHomestead\, PA\, 15120United States (map)\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThere’s nothing better going on in the city right now than Sunday Slow Grooves with J. Malls. Every Sunday at Golden Age\, J. digs deep into his massive 45s collection to bring you the chillest set of soul on the planet. Only slow sides. Only good vibes. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWe love lager.\n\n\n\n\nWe started Golden Age Beer Co. because we are passionate about making clean and crisp lagers that are eminently drinkable. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nFrom crisp Northern German and fragrant Italian-style pilsners to luxurious dunkels and Franconian rauchbiers to the easy-drinking\, “lawnmower” American lager\, we believe that\, with their clean\, subtle and eminently-drinkable finesse\, lagers are the beers that bring people together\, that cross divides\, and that are both the past and the future of beer.  And so we brought a brewery that makes lager its primary focus to Pittsburgh and\, more particularly\, to Homestead.  Indeed\, we believe that to do anything else would be an injustice to this community’s hard-working\, steely heritage and resolve.  When this community rose up in 1892 to rebuff a barge full of armed Pinkertons\, it was fueled by Homestead-brewed lager\, while the very brewers who crafted that lager stood in solidarity with their steel-worker brethren on the banks of the Monongahela.  We hope that we can stand in solidarity with this community once more as it continues on its path to a new golden age. \nOur brewhouse is well-equipped to produce the finest lagers.  We are fortunate to brew on a state-of-the-art 15 barrel BrauKon brewing system.  Bavarian-made and designed to manufacture the world’s most precise beer styles\, this system provides our brewing team with the tools it needs to walk the tightrope to make perfect lager\, which is defined nearly as much by its absence of imperfections as it is by its pursuit of perfection.  In what feels like a meeting driven by fate itself\, we were fortunate to find a head brewer who is up to the challenge of working with a system that has a lofty reputation for precision and finesse. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nMeet Head Brewer Aaron Dahl\nHead Brewer Aaron Dahl joined Golden Age in 2021 to oversee the transition of the brew house and begin working on recipe development.  Aaron comes from Chicago’s Alarmist Brewing\, where he was the head brewer for six years prior to moving to Pittsburgh to head the Golden Age Beer team. In the past several years\, Aaron has earned three medals in the Great American Beer Festival:  in 2018\, the Gold Medal in the Hazy IPA category for “Le Jus;” in 2020\, the Bronze Medal for the Pale Ale category for “Pantsless Pale Ale;” and\, in 2021\, the Bronze Medal in the American Lager category for “Midwest Royalty.” He has dedicated his professional life to beer.  And while he can produce some of the best IPAs and Pale Ales in the country\, over the past several years\, his passion — like ours — has turned towards lagers\, and he is excited to run a brew house that is dedicated to and designed for the same passion. \nGolden Age Beer Co. is located in historic Homestead\, Pennsylvania\, just outside of Pittsburgh. Founded by the same people behind Pittsburgh’s beer bars the Independent Brewing Company and Lorelei\, Golden Age is dedicated to providing its community with an inclusive\, accepting\, safe and hospitable environment that focuses on people as much as it does great beer. \nWe are an equal opportunity employer that guarantees a living wage to everyone who works here. We welcome dogs and children.

SUMMARY:Jazz Lunch with the Thomas Wendt Quartet at Golden Age Beer Co. | Weekly
DESCRIPTION:Jazz Lunch with the Thomas Wendt Quartet at Golden Age Beer Co. | Weekly\n\n12:00 PM  3:00 PM\n\n\nGolden Age Beer Company337 East 8th AvenueHomestead\, PA\, 15120United States (map)\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nPittsburgh’s next-generation jazz drummer puts together a quartet of the city’s best jazz professionals every Sunday from 12-3 at Golden Age to start your Sunday Funday off with some spectacular vibes. \n\n\n  \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWe love lager.\n\n\n\n\nWe started Golden Age Beer Co. because we are passionate about making clean and crisp lagers that are eminently drinkable. \n\n\n\n\n\nLocation\n337 E. 8th Avenue\nHomestead\, PA 15120 \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nHours\nWed-Fri 4-10 p | Saturday 11:30 a -10 p | Sunday 11:30 a -7 p \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nContact\nEmail: pete@goldenagebeer.com \nInstagram: @goldenagebeer

SUMMARY:The Colby's with New Orlean's R&B at Golden Age Beer Co.
DESCRIPTION:The Colby’s with New Orlean’s R&B at Golden Age Beer Co.\n\n\n\nSaturday\, April 25\, 2026\n7:00 PM  10:00 PM\n\n\nGolden Age Beer Company337 East 8th AvenueHomestead\, PA\, 15120United States (map)\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThe Colbys are a New Orleans-style\, piano-driven R&B band\, steeped in \nswing\, gospel and blues. Led by Grammy\, Emmy & Ace Award winner John Colby (Music Director ESPN\, ESPY’s\, NASCAR Awards) and Bev Rohlehr (Persuasions\, National Jazz Ensemble\, Mel Lewis Orchestra)\, The Colby’s are a high-energy\, no two nights ever the same musical experience.

We recommend purchasing tickets in advance as we cannot guarantee tickets will be available for walk-ups. \n\nabout RIVERS OF STEEL\n\nRivers of Steel showcases the artistry and innovation of southwestern Pennsylvania’s industrial and cultural heritage through its historical and 21st-century attractions—offering unique experiences via tours\, workshops\, exhibitions\, festivals\, and more. \nBehind the scenes\, Rivers of Steel supports economic revitalization—working at the grassroots level to deepen community partnerships\, promote heritage tourism\, and preserve local recreational and cultural resources for future generations. \n\nOur Mission\n\n\n\nFounded on the principles of heritage development\, community partnership\, and a reverence for the region’s natural and shared resources\, Rivers of Steel strengthens the economic and cultural fabric of western Pennsylvania by fostering dynamic initiatives and transformative experiences. \nOur Story: A vision for the future\, built on the past\n\n\nRivers of Steel’s journey began in the aftermath of the collapsed steel industry. In 1988\, a group of citizens got together\, united by their concerns that with destruction of the shuttered mills an important part of our region’s culture was in danger of being erased\, too. \nThe prevailing sentiment at the time was not one of reverence for the industry; rather\, it was a stew of mixed emotions—anger for the way things went down\, loss of identity in the face of joblessness\, and fear of an uncertain future. The emotional landscape was too raw for most folks to want to celebrate what the steel industry once was\, especially when it was painfully obvious that this ‘industrial downturn’ reflected permanent change. \nLong story short: those citizens organized as a task force. Four years later\, the nonprofit organization that was to become Rivers of Steel was established to carry the torch of Big Steel and its related industries—not simply telling the companies’ stories and the products they made\, but the stories of the men and women who worked there. \nIt is a legacy was too important not to save. Relics and remnants were captured\, so were oral histories. The scope of which grew beyond the workers themselves\, encompassing the neighborhoods they represented—their languages\, their churches\, their traditions and recipes—and sowed the seeds of what was to become Rivers of Steel’s archival\, cultural conservation and exhibition programs. \n\n\nRivers of Steel: A nonprofit\, but also a place\nCreated by Congress in 1996\, the Rivers of Steel National Heritage Area celebrates the region’s industrial history\, the landscape that fueled it\, and the hardworking men and women who made it possible\, linking its communities through their shared cultural and industrial heritage.

This trio has teamed up to create a band called “Permanent Cosmic Damage\,” to play some jazz standards and modern selections with a youthful energy and fresh perspective that breathes new life into Pittsburgh’s prolific jazz community.
