SUMMARY:The Gilmour Project: Wish You Were Here LIVE at Carnegie of Homestead Music Hall
DESCRIPTION:The Gilmour Project: Wish You Were Here\n\n\nThursday\, December 11th\, 2025 | This event is for all ages. \n\n\nThe Gilmour Project is \n\nJeff Pevar (CSN\, David Crosby/CPR\, Joe Cocker\, Ray Charles\, Phil Lesh & Friends\, Ricki Lee Jones).\nBerry Oakley (bass & vocals with Allman Betts Band\, North Mississippi All-Stars\, Blue Floyd & The Doors)\nMark Karan (guitar & vocals with Bob Weir\, RatDog\, The Other Ones\, Dave Mason).\nScott Guberman (keyboard & vocals with Phil Lesh & Friends\, Keystone Revisited).\nPete Lavezzoli (drums with Black JGB\, Oteil & Friends)\n\nThe 5-piece\, All-Star ensemble\, quickly gained a reputation for flipping the ‘Tribute Band’ script on its head\, with exploratory performances of iconic and deep cut Pink Floyd classics\, David Gilmour-centric and solo compositions\, and pulling other surprise classic rock masterpieces out of their hats. Their version of Kate Bush’s ‘Running Up That Hill’ appeared in their sets\, weeks ahead of its ‘Stranger Things’ buoyed resurgence to the top of the charts and worldwide press … making the band appear spookily prescient. \nStarting from the heart of Pink Floyd’s musical structure\, these superstars allow each other to soar in collaborative improvisation to deeply express the soul of this profound music. These lifelong\, stadium musicians add a new\, authentic edge to the virtuosic impact of the compositions\, better than a mere tribute band. Floyd fanatics throughout North America (the U.S.\, Canada & Mexico) amazed at the agility of these sincerely dedicated and venerable artists as they dove deeply into a catalogue of hits\, deep tracks and astonishing covers conjoined to overwhelming Pink Floyd reverie. \nTheir original multimedia\, ‘Floydian’ spectacle\, eschewed poaching Floyd/Gilmour production assets and imagery – relying instead on visuals created by acclaimed (Blondie and Todd Rundgren) LD Hans Shoop and quadraphonic sound design and special audio FX by The Duke of New York (producer of Paul Simon’s ‘Graceland – The Remixes’). Each show was live streamed\, modernizing a page from Grateful Dead’s nihilist marketing playbook\, and making the performances available for free around the world for those unable to attend due to Covid concerns\, or just unable to attend by being on the other side of the planet. \nDrusky Entertainment presents: \nThe Gilmour Project: Wish You Were Here \nThursday\, December 11th\, 2025 \nDoors: 7:00PM / Show: 8:00PM \nCarnegie of Homestead Music Hall (Munhall\, PA) \n*All tickets subject to day of show price increase. Prices at the ticket link reflect the all-in ticket price (face value + fees) – minus any taxes / credit card processing fees. \nThis event is recommended for all ages.

SUMMARY:Essential Pittsburgh: J.T. Vale at The Glitterbox Theater
DESCRIPTION:Essential Pittsburgh: J.T. Vale\n\nPittsburgh Sound + Image presents a filmmaker unseen for 40+ years \nJ.T. Vale (James Thomas or\, to his friends and family\, Jim) was a lifelong artist\, obsessive cinephile\, and a fixture of Pittsburgh’s South Side. He started making films as a kid. In his 20s\, he found community in the emerging punk and experimental scenes thriving around Pittsburgh Filmmakers\, then located at 205 Oakland Ave (now an Amazon store.) There\, his idiosyncratic interests crystallized into a distinctive style of constant but subtle\, fluid camera movement\, which J.T. theorized as locking onto the wavelength of the subject being filmed. He was a filmmaker chasing the sublime\, and in works such as “Cindy Vale\,” he achieves it. \nIn between his personal output\, Vale was one of the more in-demand camerapeople in the city. Peggy Ahwesh\, Tippi Comden\, Robert Haller\, and Natalka Voslakov (who wrote that he “knows more about film-making than most of the U.S.A.!”) were just a few of his recurring collaborators. A true maven of cinema povera\, he had an eye for cataloging and dramatizing the oddball characters in his social orbit. And Pittsburgh. His films are so very Pittsburgh\, down to a few square blocks of the South Side. Yet Jim has received little attention in the past 40 years. He passed away in 2010\, and the majority of his prolific filmography is currently lost. Over the last seven years\, we have scavenged Pittsburgh and beyond for any traces of his work\, and we’re honored to be able to assemble a J.T. Vale primer on which we think he would approve having his name. \nDoors at 7:30\, show starts at 8 \nAdvance tickets available here. \nABOUT ESSENTIAL PITTSBURGH \nPittsburgh Sound + Image seeks to redefine our region’s film history with the Essential Pittsburgh series. We acknowledge the depth of creativity which has flourished here by spotlighting vital artists and their films from the 1960s through the 2000s. This landmark series is a continuation of our efforts to celebrate a fuller picture of independent\, amateur\, industrial\, and experimental filmmaking talent\, and to better situate Pittsburgh nationally as a place of rich cinematic history.
