SUMMARY:Tag Your Tee: Graffiti Arts Workshop and Mini Tour at The Carrie Blast Furnaces | Sept 19
DESCRIPTION:Tag Your Tee: Graffiti Arts Workshop and Mini Tour at The Carrie Blast Furnaces | Sept 19\nCreate your own graffiti-inspired T-shirt in this hands-on\, creative workshop at the historic Carrie Blast Furnaces. \nJoin Rivers of Steel mural artist Scott Brozovich for a short guided walk through the site’s vibrant graffiti and large-scale murals\, where you’ll explore bold colors\, dynamic patterns\, and the stories behind the artwork that covers this iconic industrial landscape.\nAfter gathering inspiration\, head into the studio to design and paint your own custom T-shirt using spray paint and paint markers. Scott will share techniques and tips to help you develop your design and bring it to life\, whether your style is graphic\, abstract\, or expressive.\nNo prior art experience is required\, just curiosity and a willingness to experiment. Plain white T-shirts are included with registration. You’ll leave with a wearable\, one-of-a-kind piece of art and a deeper appreciation for contemporary graffiti and mural culture at Carrie Blast Furnaces. \nHours & Admission* \nTag your Tee: Graffiti arts workshop & mini-tour are offered May 9\, July 11\, and September 19\, 2026. \nGeneral Admission\n$55 \n*Workshops are limited to 30 participants. We highly recommend purchasing tickets in advance as we cannot guarantee tickets will be available for walk-ups. \nLocation & Directions \nThe Carrie Blast Furnaces are located in the communities of Swissvale and Rankin in the Monongahela River Valley.\nThe address is 801 Carrie Furnace Blvd.\, Pittsburgh\, PA 15218. \nWhat to Know Before You Go \nAs a former industrial site\, there are a few things to keep in mind to ensure an enjoyable visit. \nWhat to wear: The majority of each tour is outside; please dress for the weather. Additionally\, the ground is uneven—sensible shoes are a must. Sneakers or boots are recommended. Open-toed shoes and high heels are prohibited.\nRestrooms & concessions: The rawness of the site is certainly part of its charm. However\, that rawness also limits the creature comforts many of us are accustomed to\, like running water. Portable bathrooms and wash stations are available. Food amenities are generally not available (with some exceptions\, such as food trucks at festivals).\nPhotography: Photography is permitted. For safety reasons\, videography and drones are prohibited.\nAccessibility: Handicapped parking is available\, but the grounds covered during tours are not wheelchair accessible. Contact info@riversofsteel.com to discuss alternative options.\nLiability: By purchasing admission tickets\, all visitors are required to sign a liability waiver and consent to be photographed (PDF).\nAdmission: Site access is limited to guided tours\, workshops\, and events.
